MODIFIED TOURNAMENT RULES
The tournament follows the ILF indoor lacrosse rules with
the following exceptions:
– Shortened length of the game: round-robin games, quarter-finals,
5th–15th place
games 2x 15 mins, semi-finals and 3rd place game 3x 12 mins running time. During the last 2 minutes of every match the time is stopped with the whistle. The breaks between periods are 2 mins. Final
game – 3x 12 mins stopped time.

Penalties: a minor penalty 1 minute, a major penalty 3 mins. If two goals are scored on the
team penalized with a major penalty, the penalized team may place a player on the floor to get back to even strength. The offender shall serve the full
three minutes and will return to the floor on the next dead ball following the expiration of his penalty.
Players who are serving a penalty must remain in the penalty box between periods
and during time-outs. A player can receive a match penalty for a dangerous foul.
That
player may return for the next game of his team in the tournament. The
organizing committee reserves the right to evict the player from the tournament
in case of extremely rough foul or unsportsmanlike behaviour.
– Time-outs: each team shall be allowed a maximum of one 30 sec. time-out per game.
– In the event of a tie score at the end of the game each team is awarded 3 penalty shots. If the game is still tied, there shall be 1 penalty shot for each team until the game is
resolved. In the event of a tie score at the end of the final game, play shall continue immediately, with sudden-death overtime. The period shall be
five minutes until a goal is scored, thus deciding a winner. If the game is still tied, there shall be
3 penalty shots for each team. If the game is still tied, there shall be 1 penalty shot for each team until the game is
resolved.
Unlimited substitution of the players as in an ice-hockey.
Shot
limit 30 s, clear over the half line limit 10 s.
The ball contact with a protective nets is considered a ball outside the field.
PLAYING SYSTEM
After the cancellations due to flight restrictions caused by Icelandic volcano following tournament system was set: 16 teams were divided to four basic groups of four. The teams setting to groups was decided by the organizing committe who considered the team quality and atractivity of groups. Two teams from each group continue to the quartef-finals. LC Old Dogs Plzeò withdrew from the tournament in the very last moment on Wednesday evening without providing any reason or explanation. Their round-robin group matche will be subject of contumacy. According to the number of pionst and score differential the order of teams on 9th–15th place after the round-robin games will be set. The 9th team continues directly to Y1 match, remaining temas will make pairs for X1–X3 matches deciding the candidates for the overall 9th place. X1–X3 matces losers will play Z group for the final 13th–15th place.
The team gains 3 poits when winning the game, each team gets one point in case of tight game, the team winning penalty shots session gets one point.
CRITERIA DECISIVE FOR THE TEAM ORDER
1. Number of poits
2. Head-to-head game
3. Score differential
4. Number of goals scored
If the team order for the play-off cannot be decided upon these criteria, relevant teams will meet for an extra penalty shot session in the specified time to resolve the order.
